This body of of work are self portraits composed of interpretations of my MRI scans from a head trauma in 2011, which has caused me to examine my relationship to memory. The spaces are distilled through a colorful expressive lens of mythology, color poetry and wallpaper. I think about broken or overlapping spaces like disconnected synapses, and use this to create and obscure the idea of the passage of time and disrupt the the concrete certainty we have in our experience. These dreamy spaces are the places where my characters find their meaning.
